Overview
The Faculty of Education has two divisions−the Teacher Training Division and the Yogo Teacher (School Nurse) Training Division.
Teacher Training Division: In order to give students the best possible training as teachers and specialists, educational research is carried out in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, art, physical education, and pedagogy.
The Attached Center for Educational Research and Practice, the Center for Teacher Education Research and Development, and the Attached Kindergarten, Elementary School, Junior High School, and School for Special Needs Education allow faculty members to test research findings and give students an opportunity to experience teaching.
Courses
Teacher Training Division
Students aim to become schoolteachers by deepening their understanding of the psychology and the behavior unique to children, and by learning a wide range of methods for dealing with the various events and problems that occur in schools on a daily basis.

*Yogo Teacher (School Nurse) Training Division
Hirosaki University is the only national university in the Tohoku region to offer a Yogo teacher training program. The program aims to train school teachers to support the growth and development of students through health education and management throughout all educational activities at school.
* A “Yogo teacher” is a special licenced educator who supports children’s growth and development through health education and health services on the basis of principles of health promotion in all areas of educational activities in school. (Japanese Association of Yogo Teacher Education, 2003)
